From what I've played so far of Deception IV, it seems to have all of the music. To the VGMBD staff - I added in some translations of the tracklists per disc but my connection dropped out mid-upload, so the English tracklist has been duplicated. Sorry! If someone could fix that, that'd be awesome! >_<; |

What are these ID3 tags referred to in the notes? Is there any digital release for there to be official tags at all?

The second disc comes up tagged with Kagero in kanji, then in brackets in English followed by the rest of the tag in katakana. The third disc was coming up tagged as "Kagero II: Dark Illusion"... But the actual tag (misplaced in the ID3 tags) directly off the disc should be as "影牢 ~ シリーズサウンドセレクション ~" as it's also listed within the booklet and on the product listing for the bundle it was included in. |

Ah. Online databases are usually user-submitted though, so no surprise it would deviate. If it's not official there's probably no reason to mention them on the page.

Yeah, I think we should stick with the cover title, rather than what is on CDDB.

Just the package banner and the front cover have it listed without the decoration so should the slight difference be listed within the notes? Sorry I've not really been making much sense. |

In any case, what's on the front/obi generally takes precedence so the display title should stay as it is regardless. |

Added composers for discs 2 & 3. Every game in the series has a soundtrack w/breakdown except Kagero II, which only had a single composers, so luckily it all works out.
I also synchronized the English tracklist with the translations we have on the prior soundtracks. old translation backup:
And a couple of JP track titles on this album have a kanji difference from how they were on the original albums: 2.12: 永遠の泥濘 / 永遠の泥渟 3.01: 墜ちてきた蒼 / 堕ちてきた蒼 |

If this is a commercial enclosure, where can one obtain this OST?

You have to buy the whole "premium box" to obtain it.
Your best luck is ebay, maybe you'll even find the soundtrack alone there. |

I've been trying. I also know that the shorter OST for Nightmare Princess is in a similar enclosure and have that, but haven't found this one.
Are there any pictures that you can offer of what I might be looking for? Thank you! |

While I can't currently speak for the other Kagero games yet, I have been looking into Trapt's (aka Kagero II: Dark illusion) music. I've gone through the entire game again, did all the endings and did both the A & B sets for the side stories so I can now confirm that tracks 3.27 (Old Castle I) & 3.31 (Devil/Fiend Battle Theme) are unused, however they are featured in the Sound Test, they're 14 & 22 respectively. There's actually 8 other tracks (not counting several unused jingles) that are not used in game, but are featured in the Sound Test, those being: 05, 07, 13, 14, 23, 28, 33 & 38. There's also about 8 tracks in the game that are used, but aren't featured in the Sound Test, the filenames being e010/e020/e413 (These ones are all the same as track 3.34,) e401, e402, e404, e405, e406, e407 & e414.
In addition, I've complied some screen shots from both the English and Japanese versions of the game in order to see if anyone can help determine a proper translation for tracks 3.29 https://imgur.com/a/6HoPI & 3.34. https://imgur.com/a/7BEyg For 3.29 I'm under the impression that it's either Royal Guard Captain or Commander Battle Theme. The game (at least in the English version) never uses the term Imperial, but does use Royal and while "近衛" is used to refer to the Japanese Imperial Army I have seen "Royal Guard" translated as "近衛" and vice versa in official works, such as this trading card from Magic the Gathering. http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Ca...verseid=130551 "兵長" is the harder part here since I think it technically translates to "Lance Corporal," but I have seen it officially translated as several other ranks in English such as "Sergent" or "Captain." At first I thought it might be referring to the character Hertzog who is the commander of the royal guard and since he is one of the few boss characters in the game you'd assume he's have a unique boss theme like Queen Catalina and the Fiend/Devil, but surprisingly he simply uses track 3.26 which is shared with many generic enemies near the end of the game. Even stranger is that track 3.29 is only used once in the game, in Chapter 9 "The Road to Destruction" in which you only fight regular enemies, however you do speak with Hertzog briefly in the cutscene prior to this battle, but other than that he's not relevant to that particular mission. One of the first characters that you do fight this mission, Adolphus (character bio included with Hertzog's in the first Imgur link) does feature a description that mentions that he was promoted to captain, hence why I think the track title could be referring to him, but his bio also states that he's part of the "Old Castle Guards" as opposed to the "Royal Guards" like Finnegan and Hertzog. Lastly is track 3.34, this one is a little easier since it's clearly referring to the Dark Illusion (which for anyone who doesn't know are essentially powerful area specific traps) "Melody of Screem" (Clearly a misspelling of "Screams") / The Man-Eating Music Box. Comparing the pages for said Dark Illusion in the second of the above Imgur links the English translators clearly translated "狂想オルゴール" as the "Man-Eating Music Box." However, I'll need a second opinion on whether this actually a "accurate" translation. |

Fun fact: "kagerō" is pronounced exactly the same as "cagherò" which means "I will take a sh*t" in Italian.
I haven't played the games but if the title is mentioned anywhere (like "Biohazard" when you press start), it will be absolutely hilarious to hear. Last edited by LuxKiller65; Feb 10, 2018 at 06:01 PM. |

I noticed that track 3 ("命の刻み") was written very similarly to the Dark Illusion "運命の刻み -Twelve Killer-" (translated as "The Fated Shredding") from Trapt (aka Kagero II.)
