There doesn't appear to be anyone talking in English about this random Japanese browser game, so let's be the first!

Soukai no Privateer, by Appirits. It's a free Flash game!

The game is a trade and naval battle simulation game set in 16th century, Age of Discovery. Players will take a role of an admiral, commanding a fleet of armed merchantmen for one of the nations. Trade around the world and compete in naval battles to acheive great wealth and sucess in an exciting voyage.

I don't actually care about any of that though, I'm never going to play it.


The soundtrack is written by famous people! Five samples on that page by (in order):

I don't really like any of the songs though. :<

I sometimes wonder just how many of these browser/phone games are going to go by completely unnoticed by our community. The vast majority will never get soundtrack releases, and the composers themselves may never have the rights to release the music independently. I really hate that.

New, younger composers should be able to make a name for themselves on these games. The experienced, celebrated composers should be doing the big stuff--those well-funded projects with guaranteed music distribution.
