IT'S REAL

The composer list is direct from SuperSweep, here's the sound credits for each game:

1: N/A
2: Shogo Sakai, Masaaki Iwasaki, Yuji Suzuki, Takafumi Miura, Seiichi Hamada, Yusuke Takahama
GB: Music - Hiromichi Nakamoto, Seiichi Hamada, Masaaki Iwasaki, Hideaki Suzuki; Arrange - Masaaki Iwasaki, Shogo Sakai
3: Seiichi Hamada, Seiji Momoi, Takafumi Miura, Shogo Sakai, Seiji Yamanaka
4: Shogo Sakai, Seiichi Hamada, Masaaki Iwasaki, Emi Shimizu, Mihoko Ando, Seiji Yamanaka, Takafumi Miura, Seiji Momoi

Hideaki Suzuki (GB) and Seiji Yamanaka (3, 4) aren't included in the composer list (Hideaki Suzuki could theoretically be Yuji Suzuki but that'd be a real bad misreading if so). Shinichi Kamizono isn't in any of the games with a staff roll so may have just worked on the first game.

Considering that a copy of Greece Reminiscences in junk condition just sold on YJA for over 17,000 yen, it looks like this set is a bargain. Looking forward to it.

Nice, I figured this was quietly cancelled after no news for years. Hopefully it provides per-track credits.

It is indeed strange, but I imagine it became standard spelling as the Greek classics were translated into Latin during the height of the Roman empire.

Plus, with "cles" meaning "son of," it likely became "unfixable" after enough historical and mythological figures were translated to Latin. (ex: Aristocles, Diocles, Hierocles, Pasicles).

Anyone know if this is expected to show up on Amazon JP or CDJ? Supersweep doesn't do overseas orders, and I'd rather not do the CDJ proxy order thing unless absolutely necessary...

Typically, Supersweep releases show up on CDJapan (and presumably other vendors) about 1 month after release (the release date on most of their VGMdb entries) on their online store. I don't imagine this to be any different but I haven't heard otherwise.

However, Supersweep now accepts Amazon Pay on their online storefront. I haven't tried it myself, but presumably, if you have an Amazon Japan account, you'll be able to ship it outside of Japan.

EDIT: According to Supersweep's FB and Instagram pages, general release is June 23rd.

Pretty much anything is possible now. I never thought the Heracles albums would be getting a set. I can't even predict what will be happening next in the world of vgm resurrections.

I'd like they predict a Soul Trilogy Box (aka Soul Blader, Gaia Gensouki, Tenchi Souzou)

I definitely want what Phonograph is suggesting. Like ... I've wanted that for ages. (I'd also like the trilogy bundled and localized in English, but that's not nearly as likely as getting the soundtracks in a set!).

However, given that the title of that Langrisser box was like "Masaya Vol.1," I am eagerly awaiting a Vol.2 ... which I imagine will be either 1) a Cho Aniki box set or 2) a hodge-podge of individual games.

Wow. Finally a breakdown of who did what! I have old game rips that need fixing now but finally can properly credit them!

Isn't Quintet dead and everything they ever made in legal limbo though? The Data East stuff at least got acquired by a larger company with rights to release stuff like this. Then again there have been recent (10 years ago now lol) releases that included Actraiser, so who knows. I guess it depends if someone has rights to the music itself.

the trilogy games rights belong to quintet and enix
even if quintet is inactive, dead or whatever their rights should now belong to square-enix

the only problem I see with a sound box is that soul blader and tenchi souzou got music cds unlike gaia gensouki
so it means that some work should be done before having a gaia gensouki cd

I think I've read tenchi souzou creative soundtracks hadn't all music from the game?
that one could need some work for a 2nd cd

Yes, the Tenchi Sozo OST that was released had exactly half the music from the game (27 tracks out of 53-55, depending on how you count the jingles). A full 2 disc re-release of it has always been on my dream OST wishlist. A full box of all of Quintet's music, including the unreleased Illusion of Gaia, Actraiser 2, and Robotrek, would be heart-stopping indeed...

BTW, for anyone interested, the Heracles box is now available for pre-order on Amazon JP.

Would anyone be able to provide an English tracklist for this release? Thanks in advance!

Spotted this in the wild at a Gamadelic concert, so some people may be getting their hands on it pre-release (I didn't bite since I'm not super familiar with the series).

Ok, so I noticed the tracklist may still have some typos, like tracks not corresponding between Disc 5 (arrange) and Disc2~4 (SFC source).
Examples
3.29 いにしえの誘い
5.42 いにしえのお誘い
3.38 力の響き
5.45 力の輝き

Also 3.32/5.21 is titled スティアの嘆き when the character is presumably written as ステイア

I still made an attempt to translate the tracklist, although for Heracles II and IV I used most of what's already available on this site. Anyobdy, feel free to improve that submission.
Also, scans of the interior of the booklet are up. There's a lot more, but I'm having trouble making proper scans, and this is where all the liner notes and information are.

Also, a bit disappointed they did not include Heracles no Eikou: Tamashii no Shoumei for DS, with Yoshitaka Hirota's music..

This actually has "GLORY OF HERACLES SOUND CHRONICLE" printed on one of the sides of each case, so I'll change the top album title to that.

- D1M55: "Looking Up at the Tower" --> "Looking up at the Tower" (Up is a preposition)
- D2M39: "My Name is Baor" --> "My Name Is Boar" (Is is a verb)

(more changes possible as I get to the rest of the discs)
