Argentis' scans for the album are here for anyone who wants to upload them to VGMdb. Are there any composer track designations? I scanned and couldn't see them, but maybe they're subtle.

Yeah thanks to reminds me, i forgot to upload these.
But i must say i was also disappointed that i could not find any composition breakdown on the booklet.

Maybe translating the liner notes could help, i don't know.

Yeah, the liner notes could help, I think in the case of the very first Suikoden they gave some credits.

I've just added the composers/musicians credits from the scans. I'm surprised to find Kazuma Jinnouchi here!

Well as far as I understand from the liner notes (somebody recheck please) this is what each composer did:
- Norikazu Miura: from Citro village to the stronghold of the 108 Stars.
- Yoshiki Aoki: the Furious Roar, Porpos and Rumble races.
- Masaharu Iwata: Pharamond area and the Blades of the Night's Veil.
- Kaori Komuro: Cynus area and the Order of the One Way.
- Tomoaki Horono: "Mysterious ruins" and the "One Million Worlds" part.
- Junpei Fujita: Janam area and the imperial family.
- Daisuke Kikuta: from the Rigid/Auster Folk (giants) tribe's Svatgol Mount to Lugenik
- Hiroshi Fujima: Salsabil area and the Scribe race.
- Masato Nakayama: race of the snow region

I haven't played the game so I don't know what tracks would be these, but you can guess most from the titles.
The per-track comments are all by Miura and only talk about the general theme of each track, I think.

Alright, here is the composer breakdown based on that thread:

Norikazu Miura
Disc 1 tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 15
Disc 2 tracks 1, 2, 17, 18, 20, 22 (arranged by Jun Abe)
Disc 3 tracks 1, 2, 7, 19, 20

Yoshino Aoki
Disc 1 tracks 8, 24, 25
Disc 2 tracks 5, 6
Disc 3 tracks 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 17, 18

Kaori Komuro
Disc 1 tracks 10, 11, 12, 13
Disc 2 tracks 21, 23
Disc 3 tracks 23, 24, 25, 26

Masaharu Iwata
Disc 1 tracks 6, 14, 16
Disc 2 tracks 9, 10, 11
Disc 3 tracks 13, 14, 15, 16

Hitoshi Fujima
Disc 1 tracks 17, 21
Disc 2 tracks 3, 8, 13, 14

Junpei Fujita
Disc 1 tracks 18, 19
Disc 2 tracks 4, 7
Disc 3 track 12

Tomoaki Hirono
Disc 1 tracks 7
Disc 2 tracks 12, 19
Disc 3 tracks 5, 6

Daisuke Kikuta
Disc 1 track 20
Disc 2 tracks 15, 16
Disc 3 tracks 21, 22

Masato Nakayama
Disc 1 tracks 22, 23

I'm not sure it is absolutely reliable, although the arranger credits for disc 2 track 22 seem quite precise. It has never been mentioned before, I guess?

Is this from the sound test?

Rest assured, it's provided by the right holder, and it's incredibly reliable. I actually found it months ago and was going to add it by myself, but didn't have enough time (the same thing happened on another game before).

I'm also curious about other posts in the thread (e.g. Yamane reveals some of her composition in a guide book).

Hmm, I'm wondering about a few of these.

Disc 1 track 13 is credited to Komuro, but sounds a lot like Miura.
Disc 1 track 20 is credited to Kikuta, but... doesn't sound like Kikuta (based on his other tracks, anyway)
Disc 2 track 1 is credited to Miura, and while the track DOES include his main theme, the track otherwise has Yoshino Aoki's signature all over it.

Also, you have both Miura and Aoki attached to Disc 3 track 19. Should be Miura for 19, Aoki for 18, right?

Thanks for the composer breakdown, it's really illuminating. Most of the tracks I had deduced beforehand who the composer was, but this provided a few surprises. For instance I should have known the guys from Elements Garden were responsible for my favourite tracks in the score. <3 Hitoshi Fujima easily gets my vote for best contributor.

So yeah, thanks a lot! Now I can finally get around to tagging properly.

Great, then!

Right. Just a small typo.

It would be great to have this composer breakdown for the Extra Soundtrack as well. It seems curious that Agematsu is credited but not included in the breakdown above. And why is there no mention of Yamane if she did work on the game?

These days I am reviewing the wonderful soundtrack again
It is quite a pity that there isn't any comment on the lyric of the ending theme of the game(track 23,disc 2) in the booklet. Does anyone know exactly about the lyric? It is in Latin or French or something else? And what is the meaning of the theme?

Well, it's definitely not Latin or French or any other language I know. Maybe it's just a made-up language. I've no idea.

OK, time for a list I've compiled of music missing from the OST prints. Yes, even with 5 discs of BGM from a 30-hour NDS RPG, there's still missing music...

(spoilers ahead)

1. Opening theme, composed & arranged by Jun Sasaki as confirmed by the ending credits; see http://vgmdb.net/album/10716

2. BGM that plays during the Order's siege on the player's fortress

3. BGM when plains appear in place of Ch'olui Mountains; uses Furious Roar theme; composed by Yoshino Aoki

4. BGM when Diulf touches the Furiour Roar artifact; composed by Yoshino Aoki

5. BGM when meeting Guntram for the first time; composed by Masaharu Iwata

6. an ominous theme... I should have kept better notes on it, but it has something to do with Janam.

7. BGM that plays during the appearance of the desert

Turns out I was right. Unique Note has just added a demo page, and under the Tiekreis section a sample of "Arrival on the Great Plains -World Map 2-" is listed. This confirms that Disc 2, Track 1 is indeed Yoshino Aoki's work.

I would suspect jasrac credited Miura because his main theme is used in Aoki's track.

The complete scans were uploaded.
The catalog number of the special DVD is listed on the obi. Shall we edit the album catalog?

I don't think it's useful enough to be added

It looks like somebody added it into its individual disc catalog field, which is the way to go. Thanks for the scans, very nice.
