I'm a bit confused, why does the title of this album include everything we see on the front cover, but (for example) for this one we just say "Mario Syndrome", even though it has a lot more stuff on the front, with Japanese translation on the side of the box (not just "マリオ・シンドローム")?

I'd say K13A-748 and K13H-864 would be more appropriately titled "SUPER MARIO BROS.: MARIO SYNDROME / PRINCESS PEACH" as per this (it's the track titles included).

For SMASH 23CD and its other prints, the Japanese version's back, obi and booklet p. 01-02 scans make it seem a lot like the artists' names are part of the album's title.

Just got this, and it's not very interesting. The Tetris - Doctor Spin album is much more fun to listen to.

Anyway, in this album, the last track cuts mighty abruptly at the end. Not sure if it's a problem with the Japanese release, or all the 240 releases of this album have the same problem. Cheap!
