My understanding is this is VGMdb-eligilble since the audio differs from the CD.

There didn't exist an "original soundtrack" with actual recording/instrumentation of the in-game music before. Both previous official soundtrack used instrumentation unlike the one in the game itself (which also caused issues with their category since the technically aren't "original soundtracks" nor "arrangements" nor "remasters", just the midis played through different synths).

For one, the track times differ (e.g., compare https://vgmdb.net/album/1072 and https://vgmdb.net/album/125455 for disc 1 track 2).
