Just curious, anyone know why all these Tava Tava Rare releases get flagged as "bootlegs"? Are they just unlicensed? They sell them all over at reputable vinyl sellers, and discogs does not list them as bootlegs or unlicensed so anyone know?

Yes, it is likely that Tava Tava Rare does not have the official legal rights to reproduce those releases. After reading through an interview with Tava Tava Rare founder Gianluca Beccarisi (linked below), I believe that all TTR releases are reissues of albums from the owner's personal collection.

Gianluca Beccarisi simply copy digital files on vinyl.
For example this release took BGM files from Leiji Matsumoto Encyclopedia, same as Starzinger. Mazinger stuff was taken from the Limited Warner Box for the new serie release years ago, etc...
Some "real" collectors here in Italy know some things "behind the scene" about how Tava Tava do those japanese OST. I can't write all the details... they hide their lawfulness under "promo" and "scopo culturale (cultural purpose)" marks on the back.
Why discogs don't mark them as bootlegs? Simply cause he or some italian stupid collectors add them without know anything. Do you think is it possible he can have multiple licences of different titles never re-reissued also in Japan and release all them in a short period beetween them?
There's only a strange fact > how is possible some famous shops as arksquare sell this s...t?
Be sure, if he will release something about Takeo Watanabe, I will copy here the reply directly from his son after my report. I have been in contact with him in last years for some questions about his father works and be sure he won't be aware about anything if Tava Tava will release something...

Thank you for sharing more information. I was wondering how TTR is able to produce their reissues without running into legal trouble.

Thanks for the replies guys! Definitely helps understand the situation a lot more. Reputable shops selling bootlegs always has my spidey sense going and I really appreciate actual responses with real information here. I didn't expect any reply at all ?
