YES!!! THANK YOU!

Anyway, it should be noted (this is a bit of buried, nerdy trivia) that McCree's music for the first game was NOT originally present in the PC version in 1996 due to the fact that Core could not count on ppl having a fast enough CD ROM drive - having a slower drive would have caused the game to pause when a piece of music would have played.

However, it should be noted that when the game was made available on storefronts like Steam, the music from the PS1 and SAT versions of the game was retroactively placed into the game.

Last, there is also a collector's edition for the game being offered by sites like Best Buy. However, it only has a few things from the Limited Run CE in it. The CD makes the cut but it is only one CD and is a "Greatest Hits" cut while a DL voucher is included for the whole soundtrack. If you want what appears to be all the music on physical media, you have to fork over for LR's collector's edition.

Edit: Forgot to change the release year. Target of release is March 2025.

Edit: Also, I've seen ppl mention and question why there are no music cues in Tomb Raider Gold/Unfinished Business - the expansion for the first game. This expansion was originally a PC exclusive, thus it bowed to the same concessions as the core game. You can't quite put the music back into the game when there are no musical cues to begin with.

Thank you for taking the time to write that down. I love reading stuff like this, especially when it's something that isn't well documented and that only hardcore fans would know about.

I wish that someone that knew the track list for the TOMB RAIDER I-III REMASTERED COLLECTOR'S EDITION soundtrack cd would announce the full track list for the TOMB RAIDER I-III REMASTERED COLLECTOR'S EDITION soundtrack cd same for the digital soundtrack included in the TOMB RAIDER I-III REMASTERED DELUXE EDITION

Eh, I don't think we're gonna get that information until the CE is released, but I do believe that two CDs should be enough to fit all the music. Tomb Raider I & II don't have the much music (still love it) but I think III has as much as the first two game's combined maybe? I'm just glad I don't have to track down this: https://vgmdb.net/album/11300 and we'll get some titles for the Tomb Raider III tracks.

I just wonder if McCree has the cut scene pieces free of voice acting? That would be cool. I mean Capcom had the FMV pieces from Mega Man X4 free from voice over for the Mega Man X boxes and that was kind of surprising - and thankfully awesome as X4 had horrendously awesome voice acting regardless of region.

Dude, chill. It's not gonna release before March next year, nearly a whole year until then. I'm sure the tracklist will be published once it's save and sound.

Actually, you can kind of scratch some of the above - I wasn't thinking about some things here:

We possibly may get the entire track list for this (the double CD) prior to the March 2025 date for the Limited Run collector's edition.

Remember when I said there was another, smaller retail collector's edition above? As stated, this version comes with a single, Greatest Hits Music CD? It also comes with a digital download, which I'm assuming (may) contain both discs worth of music. I don't know why the CD and DL would contain the exact same music - it would make sense the DL would be for everything.

I ordered a copy of the retail CE for one of the components, so I can redeem the code and get the DL so we can add the data to the database. The release date is set for September 24.

That said, I didn't think of that earlier. Can't believe that detail slipped my mind.

I guess ordering that other CE wasn't such a bad idea; I possibly won't have to wait till March 2025 for have access to the music.

Eh, seems I won't be getting the retail collector's edition anytime soon. I had it ordered on amazon but it didn't ship before/on release day and I had to approve a delay. Not sure if I'll end up getting it in the end, so I won't have it in hand to confirm the music DL or the GH CD for a bit. Maybe someone else will get it and upload the info Also, I see it's been delisted on other sites as well.

I do have a standalone copy of the game in hand tho.

I ordered mine in May and Amazon says that it's shipping on Monday, so apparently a few days after the launch. I guess the collector's editions were sold out pretty quick.

Yeah, I ordered it kind of late (July 4); I had no idea it was up as early as May tho, that probably explains it.

I did snag a copy off eBay tho for only a few dollars more, so will get it a few days later but no biggie.

Kind of waiting for tonight though; my friend at work wanted the game but completely forgot about ordering it. I kind of had a hunch that would happen so I did order some extra, standalone copies of it. I didn't think I'd have a copy for her so soon. Was kinda bummed she was off yesterday, thought it be cool to give it to her on release day.

Didn't realize the CD inclusion was exclusive to the European Collector's Edition.

Edit:

I'm a little bummed the tracks aren't using their official names...

The DL in the US deluxe is just of what I think's on the GH CD. It's only a discs worth of music. Guess I was wrong. I'll have to wait until March (hopefully) to get everything.

Here's some notes on the DL. There might be some slight spoilers in here:

Spoiler:
1.) TR1 - Atlantean Stronghold
- I believe I incorrectly labeled this as being used in the expansion Unfinished Business but I don't think the expansion had any new music. The reason I said it was the expansion is because "Atlantean Stronghold" is the name of the first level in the expansion, but the final levels of the original game could also be considered a "Atlantean Stronghold" in the general sense. I am certain the final levels of the core game has an ambient track had a beating heart motif to it and this track has that. I don't believe this track is available via Redbook; the only ambient track in the original game you can get that way is the next track ("Cave") if my memory serves me.

2.) TR1 - Caves Ambient Sound
- Main Ambient theme for the first four levels in the game, usually dubbed as "Cave". Can be accessed by redbook.

3.) TR1 - Caves Ambient Sound 2
- I believe this is the ambient theme for the Greek levels. This can't be accessed by Redbook if I'm remembering correctly.

4.) TR1 - Colosseum - Background Music
- Otherwise known as "Longing For Home"; accessible by Redbook

5.) TR1 - Enemy Fight Theme
- Otherwise known as "T-Rex"; accessible by Redbook

6.) TR1 - Enemy Fight Theme (Short)
- Shorter edit of "T-Rex"; accessible by Redbook

7.) TR1 - St. Francis_ Folly - Background Music
- Otherwise known as "A Friend Since Gone"; accessible by Redbook

8.) TR1 - St. Francis_ Folly 2 - Background Music
- I don't think the official name of this one has been made public; accessible by Redbook

9.) TR1 - The Lost Valley - Background Music
- I believe this is called "Where The Depths Unfold"; accessible by Redbook

10.) TR1 - Tomb of Qaulopec v2 - Background Music
- Alternate version of "Time To Run"; accessible by Redbook

11.) TR1 - Tomb of Qulopec 2 - Background Music
- Main version of "Time To Run"; accessible by Redbook

12.) TR1 - Tomb Raider Theme
- accessible by Redbook

13.) TR1 - Tomb Raider Theme - Long
- accessible by Redbook

14.) TR1 - Tomb Raider Theme v2
- Version of the main theme that starts with chanting; I think it us used at certain points near bodies of water; accessible by Redbook

Note: The section for TR1 gave us most of the songs we have titles for, but do note "A Long Way Down" wasn't included.

Note: For Tomb Raider II tracks, I can't confirm what is accessible via Redbook as I don't have a copy of the game to check.
Tomb Raider III did not use Redbook. I do want to make it point to nab some cheap copies of the game so I can check out the audio on them again.

15.) TR2 - Furnace of the Gods -Background Music
- I believe this is also used in conjunction with the snowmobile, but when you get encounter the enemy one with machine guns on it (could this be "Uzi Ice Madness" from other discs?); but I may be misremembering. Interesting this is the only track with kind of a real title here.

16.) TR2 - Offshore Rig Ambient Sound

17.) TR2 - Temple of Xian Ambient Sound
- The name MAY be a little misleading, the "ambient sound" part is important as there is another track that's just called "Temple of Xian" from TR II that isn't ambient that is essentially track 8 in this DL (the one we don't have a name for) from the original game but built upon more.

18.) TR2 - Tibetan Foothills - Background Music
- Theme for the snowmobile/TR2 credits theme; official name "The Skidoo"

19.) TR2 - Tomb Raider II Theme
- Title/main/load screen theme for TR2

20.) TR2 - Venice - Back Ground Music
- Known as "Venice" - probably don't have to explain this one, can also be heard in Lara's home in TR2 as well if you turn on the stereo

21.) TR2 - Wreck of the Maria Doria - Background Music
- I think this is accessible via Redbook but I don't think it has an official name. I think it plays in the level with the same name. This is essentially track 8 from TR1 with a new intro.

22.) TR3 - The River Ganges - Background Music
- My mind is failing me because I don't like TRIII that much; the quad bike level?

23.) TR3 - Caves of Kaliya - Background Music

24.) TR3 - Jungle (Temple) - Background Music
- Otherwise known as "The Puzzle Element"

25.) TR3 - Jungle - Background Music
- Crops up in the South Africa section of the game; official name "Something Spooky in That Jungle"

26.) TR3 - Jungle Ambient Sound
- Main ambient theme for the South Africa section of the game

27.) TR3 - Lud's Gate Ambient Sound
- London section/segment

28.) TR3 - Nevada Desert - Background Music
- Self explanatory

29.) TR3 - Temple Ruins Ambient Sound
- Can't place it, but it's a newer take on the ambient caves theme from TR1

30.) TR3 - Tomb Raider Melody
- Title/main/load screen theme for TRIII

31.) TR3 - Wind Ambient Sound

32.) TR1 - Wind Ambient Sound

34.) TR2 - Bartoli's Hideout
- Take on the main theme; can't remember if this actually plays in Bartoli's Hideout tho - it plays as various sections in the game. Do note there is a shorter track that plays earlier in this level when you enter his mansion that signifies trouble; don't get this confused with that track.

34.) TR2 - Cave with water fall Ambient Sound
- Can't remember for the life of me; Tibetan Foothills ambient theme maybe?

35.) TR2 - The Deck
- I think this is used for the one "puzzle" in this level - not a puzzle as much as mandatory (and poorly designed) damage and healing.

36.) TR2 - The Great Wall
- The theme that is generally used for platforming puzzles; it seems that this name was used for this track on previous, older sources (check: https://vgmdb.net/album/4107) but in the Tomb Raider suite this is named "Vertigo"

37.) TR3 - Jungle Drums

38.) TR3 - Stream Ambient Sound

Edit:

Also, I thought I should add (it's about the game rather than the music) that - at least on the Switch - the what's on the game cart is up to and including the final patch for the game. You won't need to DL anything additional, so it seems future proof, so if you want a copy of the game(s) for archival reasons this appears to be a good moment.

Are these tracks somewhat remastered? I heard from a different source that they used the original files. Also, composer Nathan McCree wasn't involved with the remastered collection at all, which seems like a totally missed opportunity here.

http://www.musicoftombraider.com/202...with-tomb.html

Maybe that's one of the reasons they didn't use the official track names. This one seems more like a professional gamerip than an official soundtrack.

Btw my Amazon shipping got delayed as well with no shipping date yet. They want to contact me via email once they know something. Hope it doesn't get canceled. Curse them, if they didn't produced enough physical copies.

I'm not sure if the tracks are remastered, but when I compared some of the Redbook files from the original game to the tracks on here, I couldn't tell much if any difference. I get that's not exact an science without using programs but I don't think anything was done to them. But yeah, not involving McCree is definitely a missed opportunity. However, that article said he may release the OSTs later himself - it seems he has the rights which would make sense given the Suite set released a few years ago - so here's to hoping for that. (On a side note I wish Bobby Prince would release the Doom soundtracks, but maybe he can't because these days as the tracks sample way too many tracks and it's a legal nightmare.)

My copy arrived today, whohooo. I added the digital soundtrack album and will add the Greatest Hits CD later.

Someone told me the CD doesn't have a tracklist per say; I'm just curious if it's the same as the DL.

Anyway, part of me kind of wants to write a usage FAQ for the tracks, but I should probably hold off on that until we get the other half of the music in March if it does release in March.

Additionally, I heard through the grapevine what I said about the Switch version MAY be incorrect. It seems it says it has patch 1.05, but it's still missing the last patch supposedly? Of course it is. Also heard the PlayStation version forces a 4.7 GB download? I haven't confirmed either of these but I'm hearing complaints here and there.

Nope, it doesn't have a tracklist. It seems they didn't bother with that. The music on that disc is also the same as the digital soundtrack it seems, minus 7 tracks. I didn't have a chance to listen to it yet tho. All in all, they put very little to no effort in this soundtrack release, the music itself is not even remastered as it seems...

Hopefully Nathan McCree puts up a better release with his upcoming newly recorded soundtrack. I guess you don't have to expect much of a bonus item which comes with a deluxe edition...

As for the different versions I have no answer. I ordered mine for PS5 and didn't play it yet as I have tons of other games which I want to play first lol

Unfortunately, what I heard and wrote above for the Switch version is true. Patch 4 is not included and now can be DLed. It's 2.7 GB. I'm beyond irritated. Not that it matters (one person isn't gonna make a difference) but I'm gonna pass on the second collection; don't trust Aspyr anymore. The only thing to add is I guess we'll see what we get in March with the 2CD - but I'm not expecting any miracles.
