I am not sure I understand the use of "referenced" (blue text or star) on most of the credits. When someone is referenced, it means they are a composer/arranger/lyricist that had no direct involvement in the creation of the music. Good examples are when classical music is used in a game, or when a doujin artist arranges music from a game composer, or when a cover artist covers a vocal.
