Looking at the credits for the Asteka II port (https://youtu.be/UoirG9viBZU?si=lf96CDZkTMvuQXfc&t=608, https://www.mobygames.com/game/24236...oplatform=true), I recognized the name Hiroshi Kimura (木村 浩; same kanji as https://vgmdb.net/artist/11698). Considering the fact that it also mentions Syu Sato/佐藤修, as well as the Dreamcast version of Sorcerian also mentioning several other former Irem employees (Shin'ichi Yamamoto/山本新一, Takumi Kawai/河合匠, Tsutomu Sakata/坂田勉), this Kimura is likely the same person as https://vgmdb.net/artist/11698, thus making him the only possible candidate to have made this compilation's soundtrack arrangements for Asteka II.
This of course makes the fact that Hiyamuta went uncredited in the Ys II port all the more inexplicable... |
