Mugen Yasoukyoku was originally released for PC-98 in 1995-04-22 and a Windows version came out in 1996-05-17.

In 1998-11-27 EXCELLENTS published Mugen Yasoukyoku Renewal which was basically the same PC/Win version but with voice acting and improved graphics. This new release came in two editions: a regular and a First Press Limited Edition which was probably where this soundtrack CD came from.

According to the official website (http://web.archive.org/web/200005111...cot/mugenv.htm) the package price was: 8800 JPY. Since it was released in 1998-11-27 maybe that's a more accurate date than the previous 1997-12-28 (could not find the source for that 1997 date). This source (https://vndb.org/r7213) also states that the package catalog no. is "EXC-0027", so perhaps it should be EXC-0027 instead of LI-MUGEN, I guess?

The former release date of 1997-12-28 is from BANDiT and the website has usually been pretty accurate for documenting this kind of music. Notably the entry for this CD does not say anything about it being an enclosure / first press item. 販, if I interpret it correctly, indicates the CD could have been obtained by some sort of sale/trade. The date given is the first day of Winter Comiket 1997.

Another part of the archived Apricot website seems to confirm this was not a first press bonus but rather produced for event sale, and sold at Comiket for a price of 1,500 Yen
