GMCL says Masaru Setsumaru is the composer.
Also, we need more albums like this. <3 |

Does anyone hate how neither the game nor the album doesn't credit the composers? I sure do, I kind of like this album.
![]() Jun Senoue has claimed in a few interviews (StyleFactory.net, the October 2010 issue of Nintendo Power) to have composed for the game. His old profile on Wave Master's site says that he "helped" with composition. Masaru Setsumaru's profile says that he composed for the game and did sound effects. No one else's profile lists the game (here's the list, there are a lot of folks there), but that doesn't necessarily mean that there wasn't another composer. |

Ok... I kinda forgot why I added Lotty as a composer. I can't find any info saying she had anything to do with it. I think I may have confused this for Formula One World Championship: Beyond the Limit, which she is credited as doing. I'm just gonna unlink her, unless I can find anything saying otherwise.

Just for reference, transcribed from the booklet:
Quote:
I'd like to note that the most likely romanization of 赤坂東児 is Toru Akasaka and not Toji Akasaka. I say this because searching for his name in hiragana form you get only a few pages, and not very reliable, with "あかさか とうじ" but you get many more results with "あかさか とおる" (wikipedia, personal websites, reliable sites). Also, the animenewsnetwork and IMDb's pages give his name as Toru Akasaka. |

Toji Akasaka was used in the English release of an anime he scored, so that's why we went with that reading. Anime News Network even used to say Toji!
Looks like Toru is correct though, I agree. |

I just realized this OST was released over a year before the game was. Unless the year of one of them is incorrect (they were both released in November)

Are the tracks here really from the game? Jun Senoue joined Sega in 1993 (and the game was released that year), yet this is from 1992. Something is off here.

As it was the 30th anniversary of DARK WIZARD recently, Masaru Setsumaru shared the album on Twitter, and mentioned how the album came out way before the game, apparently a decision made at Toshiba.
Seeing as I've researched it a bit, I did mention that the game was planned to come out around the same time the album did. It was publicly revealed months before the MEGA-CD launched. But, it kept getting delayed, and when reviews finally started coming out, saying it was going to release in January 1993... it just disappeared, and suddenly showed up again in November 1993. I also asked Setsumaru about the composer credits for the game, and while he can't remember the details for people other than him, he confirmed that his tracks are 8, 9 and 11. EDIT: Also note that I showed him what's called BGM 18 in the VGM rips floating around. Why? Because it's a PCM arrangement of track 11. But he had never heard it before, saying someone else arranged his music. He did wonder if it was Sachio Ogawa, but definitely just because I'd already mentioned Ogawa before.
