I'm very pleased with this album. Had a lot of doubts since Ar tonelico 3 was a big letdown for me and Yanagawa was one reason for that.
However the new Atelier is especially nice and succeeds in capturing the same feeling as in the old (e.g. Atelier Iris Eternal Mana) soundtracks. |

Rorona was a strange step in the series for me, and AT3 was a letdown.
Thus far, I think totori is pretty good. Not sure if it reaches "Eternal Mana" status. I need more time with it to decide. But I think you've made some good assessments here LA. |

Kazuki Yanagawa does a far better job here than in AT3, that's for sure. But Ken Nakagawa's compositions leave a bit to be desired compared to earlier works, sadly. The "Atelier" feeling is still present, but slightly different... also the variation is missing a bit (and Achiwa's rock compositions!!). Neverless, an acceptable score, on the same line as Rorona in my opinion.

Thanks a lot for the scans.
I had no other choice but to resize them. They are now around 70% of their original size (around 4000x2000) but that's more than enough. |

I noticed something strange:
- Searching for this album on CDJapan doesn't yield any results (I tried 'totori', 'alchemist arland' and even the cat number), even though the shop link still works. - According to CDJapan the album is already out of print. Wait.... isn't this an TEAM Entertainment print? How come that a 2010 album from one of the major players is already OOP? Last edited by LiquidAcid; Mar 21, 2012 at 05:21 AM. |

Unlike Rorona's OST the matching tracklist doesn't apply to this one, sadly. Again, the iTunes tracklist, the NIS America tracklist and the Atelier Series Legacy BGM Set have different translations ready. I'm listing the ones from the DLC, which seem most up to date:
1.05 The Waves Call My Name 1.06 Following the Footsteps 1.09 Following the Footsteps - Forest 1.11 A Storekeeper in a Small Village 1.17 Following the Footsteps - Plains 1.22 Share Some Milk 1.28 Following the Footsteps - Ruins 1.29 The Peaceful Ruins 2.04 Following the Footsteps - Wilderness 2.05 Across the Wilderness 2.10 The Decaying Monastery 2.12 Following the Footsteps - Cave 2.13 The Village in the Fog 2.15 The Night's Domain -For Atelier Totori- 2.16 The Shadows Gather 2.20 Following the Footsteps - Island 2.21 The Divergent Forest 2.22 The Distant Summit 2.24 The Raging Seas 2.25 Village of Fleeting Snow 2.27 One Last Point The following tracks are identical in all releases: 1.08 I Can Still Walk, 1.14 Atelier Totori (obvious), 2.09 Crystal Waltz, as well as the already English translated ones (Yellow Zone, Terminus, etc.) plus with TARGET and GO GO TOTORI all in capital letters just like in the original Japanese version) |
