OK i uploaded some scans, check the date of printing. It's really odd to me.
28th February 1989?
I am guessing that H25X-20015 is a first press, and I'm guessing in those days you didnt get a Ltd Ed book like you do now, so PSCR-5185 is the regular print, or something along those lines.

I'm not sure we can trust the year that's printed on the back. The PSCR stem doesn't seem to have been used until 1993.

Note that the R-21-12 code that is also on the back is also a date code that stands for Dec 21, 1988, the date of the original printing.

Well it's your call obviously, just trying to do my bit.
I did read somewhere that it is a second printing of H25X-20015 rather than a re-print.

This is interesting.
I never noticed before, but on the ?first print? H25X-20015, there are also 2 dates!

So what was the meaning of the date 89/02/28th ?
It does not correspond to the Japanese price control expiration date.

I can't read the kanji by the 1989 date. Maybe Cedille can translate it.

It says "Rental forbidden period." I'm guessing that it means that the disc could be used for rentals until that date, but not afterwards. CD rentals are actually quite a business in Japan.

It literally mean sthis album couldn't used for the rental business until that date (a waiting period for a newer release). Given there is another note stating this CD was still not rentable even afterwards, it virtually meant nothing.

I guess this is yet another reprint, everything printed of which except for the catalog number remains the same, like Aniplex and Cave do even today. In this case, we have to rely on mostly retail shops to know the actual release date.

We're pretty much relying on the info presented here:

http://www.suruga-ya.jp/database/120007462001.html

It would be nice to have more confirmations, but most sites go with the printed date. The 1993 date is much more feasible than the 1989 date.

Ah, okay. That explains why it baffled me.
