No co-composer this time or is that information not known yet?
EDIT: and the limited edition features an extra CD's worth of music? Last edited by Don; Jul 25, 2011 at 09:47 AM. |

Just seems to say Composed and Arranged by Namco Tales Studio, like most recent albums... I was told that Sakuraba has a blurb about the music, but not sure if others are involved.

Sakuraba has his full name credited for the liner notes on page 12.
I'll be watching for the staff roll as usual, there is no other reliable source. Last edited by Datschge; Sep 8, 2011 at 10:24 AM. |

According to a friend who has listened to the soundtrack, he says it all sounds like Sakuraba and not any additional composers, but of course, the ending credits is the only truly reliable source.

Sakuraba (labelled "Music Composer") just gives the generic 'track mood' talk in the notes btw.
The producer Hideo Baba also comments a bit on the change of style compared to other Tales OSTs. I tweaked a bit the translation, attn taggers. 211 makes more sense know I guess. 224 used one of those silly 'special readings' Team Symphonia sure loves. Dunno if it's meant to be Jin/Jinn/Djinn or what though. 310 was missing a char in the JP tracklist, so the name was wrong. I used Krsnik (also Kresnik) since I believe this is a reference to this or this. [EDIT: Kresnik is the official] Other notes: 114 Could be "The Land of Another Country", but no context here. 229 虐殺精霊の言葉 may seem like "Spirit Genocide" rather than the other way, but I think that'd be written "精霊虐殺" (it does sound a bit weird right now). 305 "A City _in_ Another World" is valid too, depending on context (the city 'comes from' or 'is in' another world?) 315 I wasn't too sure if it's "Believe I Can Change", decided to play safe. Other tracks I translated the best I could. EDIT: tracklist tweaks, now with context. Other possible translations I couldn't quite decide on: 2.20 Fire Rain in the Marsh 2.24 Spyrix Weapon [US loc.] 2.29 Words of the Slaughtering/Slaughterer Spirit 3.12 Believe in People's Possibilities 3.15 Believe I/We/One Can Change This game doesn't have a sound test to compare with the US official names tho, but I was fairly satisfied with the current translation. Cedille already did the respective changes, but here's the proof for those who want to see it as well:

I updated some of the translations with those featured on the English digital release. (iTunes / Amazon)
1.03 The Protection by the Four Great Spirits 1.07 A Royal City Engulfed by the Night 1.08 Rampant Malice 1.16 A Brief Rest 1.18 Overwhelming Nature 1.20 Lost Battle 1.27 Embraced by Kindness 1.32 Believe in Myself 2.01 The Sword That Dances Magnificently 2.02 A Mecca of Battles 2.05 The Lord's City Towering in the Mountains 2.08 A Sea of Clouds Below 2.10 Blurring Omen 2.11 The Fist and a Decision Made in a Blink 2.15 Believing in Our Flag 2.22 The Outcome of the Melee! 2.23 Gin's Weapon 2.26 A Gigantic Moving Ship 2.30 The Closed World 3.02 The Fists Know No Defeat 3.03 The Wavering World of the Spirits 3.04 Breaking Through the Creaking World 3.09 A World In Between 3.11 Battle for a Future We Believe In 3.12 Believing in the People's Potential The title for track 2.23 was mistranslated on the digital release. "Gin" ("黒匣") meaning "black box," refers to a device in Tales of Xillia which allows someone to cast spirit artes without incantations. Thus the correct translation would actually be "Gin Weapon." "Gin" are called "Spyrix" in the English localization so the proper localized translation for it would in-turn be "Spyrix Weapon." Additionally, I thought it was worth mentioning that most of the translations featured on the Tales of Xillia Music CD differ from those used in the digital release. 1.05 Clenched Fist 1.07 Spirit-lit Seat of Kings 1.11 Root of Evil 1.18 Rich in Nature 1.21 Sanctum of the Spirits 1.27 Filled With Tenderness 1.28 Milla's Theme -The Mission- 1.32 Believe in Oneself 2.01 Splendid Sword Dance 3.04 Beyond a Colorless World |
