Cool! Hard to be excited when they keep putting together concerts that I'll never see though. It's hard to travel when you're broke-ass poor. Just traveling to another city can be tough, let alone a different state or country. :P

It's going to be called Final Symphony and will focus on music from VI, VII and X

I think it's nice that they're trying not to make "another FF concert" and take a different approach, at least in this early stage.
Now, hopefully it's going to be in Cologne again..

Right there in the interview:

I guess this might already tell one or two things about the differences. As previously mentioned, we concentrate on three parts of the series exclusively, which gives us more freedom for using Final Fantasy music never or seldom heard in a concert hall before. The approach is more classical than pop. We do not use video screens. Final Symphony is not meant to be competition to Distant Worlds — it is simply a different take on the music of Final Fantasy.

So Final Symphony is indeed about telling the stories of the games, or the focus on certain scenes or happenings featured. The balance is very important to us, so that we can capture the atmosphere of the games. We believe that said balance can be only achieved by limiting the number of featured Final Fantasy parts to three.

I think it's a bit early to already dismiss the concert for being Final Fantasy, especially since it's the first concert by this team focusing on the series.
