It was a surprise and pleasure to be approached by Mathew Valente, whose arrangements I’d always enjoyed, to commission an original work from Kikuta-san. I knew I’d ultimately want the world to hear what Kikuta-san created with Mathew’s direction, but wasn’t quite sure what we’d do. I immediately loved the song, and thought it would be strange to release it all by itself as a single, so I started inviting some of our Scarlet Moon family to arrange the song on their own unique styles. The result is diverse and stunning. We were able to do something really special with the music, the album art (featuring none other than Hiroo Isono, whose work graced Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3), and this booklet. Music is hard business these days, so we’d love to hear from fans who appreciate this kind of release. It would be amazing to do something similar with some of our other Scarlet Moon family of artists as well. Until next time!
