Founded in 2014 by Tadakaz Mishiya, with game designer Masanobu Endo and composer Yuzo Koshiro serving as honorary chairmen, the orchestra is the successor to the Japan BGM Philharmonic Orchestra
Facing financial difficulties, JAGMO was put up for sale in March 2023. However, in 2024, marking its 10th anniversary, the orchestra saw a revival with the launch of JAGMO 2.0. This new initiative aims to restore and expand the orchestra's full range of activities
