I've completed the Japanese tracklist based on the scans we have for this album. I'm surprised the list we had in the database had a few bits of Engrish compared to the perfectly spelled list on the scans.
I also adjusted a few titles on the English tracklist based on direct translations. Is there a consensus between you frequent editors on how to read things like 1st, 2st, 3st in a tracklist? I think some people consider it to be an Engrish-ized version of first, second, third, etc., but I've always read it as an abbreviation for "stage" (as in 1stage BGM, 2stage BGM, 3stage BGM, etc.). |

Anyone have a translation of the liner notes in booklet 1-4?

On Aki Hata's blog she states that she composed 2 themes, and then something in brackets. "2曲作曲(後ほど曲名確認します)"
Strange that she wasn't credited in the game. Can anyone make sense of this? |

Interesting. The game came out during her time at Konami, so it's possible. It wouldn't be the first time someone's gone uncredited in a game.
I think the stuff in the parentheses says something like "I'll check the titles later." |

Ah, that's what I figured. I wonder how long ago that was posted. Maybe she forgot about it. Perhaps someone can try contacting her for clarification/as a reminder.

Is it safe to add a profile for Hidehiro Funauchi? He's on this wiki:
http://www36.atwiki.jp/gmcomposer/pages/42.html Edit: I also found a site with all credits from the Contra series. Might be useful to some.. http://www.ne.jp/asahi/hzk/kommander/constaff.html Last edited by Nisto; May 1, 2011 at 02:32 PM. |

I removed Kyohei Sada as a composer for the NES version of Contra since, according to this interview, Maezawa did it by himself.

Yep. I thought someone did that already actually, haha.

Any guesses as to the 2 tracks Aki Hata supposedly wrote (or helped write)? If they were actually included in the final game and on the OST, that is.

I recently asked Miki-san and she told me that she composed the following tracks: the opening, the first stage, the final stage, the final boss, the map music, and the ending.
https://x.com/mkhgsnofficial/status/1954713463059816724 So Miki did "Alien Wars Begin (Title Demo BGM)", "It's Time for Revenge (1st BGM), "Select the Landing Point (Drop Point Select BGM)", "Go Forward Under Fire (6st BGM)," "The Showdown (Last Boss BGM)", and "Return in Glory (End Credit)" She also served as music director, and created wave tonelengths and manipulated the music. Update: She also said Tappy Iwase did the second half of the end credits. We can assume that maybe Masanori Adachi did the rest of the tunes, but I could be wrong.
