I received word of this via Twitter, as well as through her production company's official statement. It is confirmed.

Btw, are you really sure her death cause is a complication? Pretty much everywhere states she died due to the cancer.

I'd posted that when the news first broke...I'd suspected it was cancer she fought though...I'll update it to reflect that.

Based on Japanese Wikipedia, I've changed the birthdate to 1970.
